There is a neighborhood in Africa that you will probably never visit. But the aspiring and bright young men and women of Adabraka need your help. They have no community center, no after-school programs, no church programs or any place constructive to go after school and in the evenings. Therefore, to while away their time, most of these future leaders of Africa and indeed, the world, have begun forming the bad habits of watching old imported TV programs every evening. Studies have shown that too much TV watching results in less study time and increases the possibility of dropping out of school.
Lack of education contributes significantly to the never ending cycle of poverty in Africa. In addition, it has been recognized over the years that poverty and lack of education contribute significantly to the constant human tragedy of national and regional conflicts in Africa. It is imperative that this cycle is stopped. The absence of community programs and hours of watching imported TV reruns must be replaced with challenging educational alternatives. It is believed that an active free community library with programs and projects that attract the youth can be the alternative, hence the GHANA FREE COMMUNITY LIBRARY.
